This project aims to tackle marine plastic pollution in Toliara, Madagascar, by establishing community managed hubs that will serve as centers for environmental education and will regularly host beach clean-ups and habitat restoration projects. The project plans to establish 5 BlueWave Hubs along Toliara’s coastline, directly benefiting over 50,000 residents by 2026. Additionally, the project will engage private companies to sponsor these hubs and beach clean up events as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives. To ensure the effectiveness of educational initiatives, BlueWave Hubs will collaborate with local schools and universities to integrate environmental education into their curricula and offer hands-on learning experiences to students. By engaging young people, this project aims to cultivate a new generation of environmental leaders who are passionate about marine conservation and committed to driving positive change in their communities.
