Marcia Mckenzie

Marcia McKenzie is Professor in Global Studies and International Education in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, and Lead of the Climate Communication and Education Research Cluster at Melbourne Climate Futures, University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists; and Director of the $4.5M SSHRC-funded Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project (www.mecce.ca), and of the Sustainability and Education Policy Network (www.sepn.ca). Her research areas include comparative and international education, global education policy research, and climate and sustainability education. She has co-authored a number of books and reports, including the UNESCO report “Learn for our planet: A global review of how environmental issues are integrated in education” and the recent NAAEE/MECCE report, Mapping the landscape of K-12 climate change education policy in the United States.”
