Overview

Environmental education in Bolivia has a strong foundation in several national policies and continues to grow. While the majority of environmental education comes from non-governmental sources, the government has expanded projects to reach more of the public. Most importantly, the people of Bolivia have demonstrated a deep interest in their natural resources.

National Policy

The most important Bolivian law in regards to environmental policy is the Environment Act. In the 5th article, the Environment Act establishes the incorporation of environmental education in environmental public policy. In addition, the 81st to 84th articles mandate that policies and strategies be defined in order to plan and develop formal and informal environmental education programs.
